Since tourist service resumed in early May, the number of tourists to Ha Long Bay has increased. Many of them choose overnight staying service on Ha Long Bay. From May 15th to June 30, the service users reached 22,262 arrivals.
There are currently 187 over-night junk boats with nearly 2,000 rooms and total investment of about 2 trillion VND operating on Ha Long Bay.
In order to boost tourism demand and lure more domestic tourists using overnight staying service on the bay, Quang Ninh Department of Tourism has proposed the Provincial People’s Committee a draft resolution to adjust and supplement Resolution No.256 dated May 14, 2020, including discounting 50% of ticket prices to tourist sites. Visitors who use overnight staying service on the bay; children under 1.2 m height or under 7 years old, the disabled, the elderly, and passengers via Van Don International Airport, are eligible to enjoy reduction policy in line with current regulations.
