2017 Japanese Cherry and Yellow Apricot blossom festival kicks off in Ha Long

With the theme of “Co-operation and Development”, Japanese Cherry and Yen Tu Yellow Aprocot Flowers festival officially opened on March 11 in Ha Long city.

Organized by Ha Long City People's Committee, the four-day festival displays 50 Japanese cherry trees and 5,000 cherry blossom branches, and 60 Yen Tu yellow apricot trees taken from Yen Tu Pagoda in Quang Ninh.

The festival is a good chance to strengthen cultural relationship and co-operation between Quang Ninh and Japan through a wide range of activities, namely: display of cherry blossom trees and Yen Tu yellow apricot, an exhibition of tourism, local and Japanese trade and cuisine products, cuisine and art shows performed by artists from Japan and Quang Ninh, along with a conference on business cooperation promotion between Japan and Quang Ninh 

The first Ha Long cherry flowers festival was organized in Ha Long city in 2013 to celebrate the 40th  anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Japan.

The festival lasts till March 15.
