The local government mobilized people and two excavators to save the whale.

At the time of a whipped tide, the stranded whale was lying relatively deep on the shore. Because of heavy rain, the rescue work faced a lot of difficulty. The two excavators dug up a channel leading to the sea and then people put the whale on a canvas and dragged it to the channel to put it out to sea.

Mr. Nguyen Van The, a rescuer, said: “Everyone is very happy to do something useful for environmental protection. Those who were directly involved in the rescue were the happiest people, because they did a little thing of great meaning.”

Some people on the island said that so far they have repeatedly rescued many dolphins, turtles … on the beach but this is the first whale washed up that they saved.

According to many people, the appearance of the whale may be a good omen.
