On October 19, the People's Council Committees of 33 communes, wards and towns of Ha Long City and Hoanh Bo district held meetings on the approval of the plan on merging Hoanh Bo district into Ha Long city.
Accordingly, 100 percent of councilors voted for the merger of Hoanh Bo district into Ha Long city.
At the meeting, councilors had discussions and raised their opinions on merging Hoanh Bo district into Ha Long City. Most of them agreed and highly appreciated potential and advantages when merging the two localities.
This result is an important premise to provide the new Ha Long City with enough large space for development not only in the next 20-30 years but also in the future, helping Ha Long to become an advantageous city with great development potential, which could meet criteria in terms of land, population and necessary infrastructure to reach the target of developing Quang Ninh into the central city by the year of 2030.
