The 2nd Viet Nam Rice Festival will take place in the southern province of Soc Trang from November 8-11, organizers said on Monday.
The festival will feature a wide range of activities, including a floral parade, symposiums and exhibitions showcasing the history of wet rice civilizations, farming tools, and fishing equipment.
A program honoring outstanding farmers, rice exporters and scientists who have contributed to the country’s rice production will also be held as part of the festival.
The event aims to promote a recognized trademark for Vietnamese rice and boost tourism and socio-economic development in Soc Trang province.
The first Viet Nam Rice Festival was held in the southern province of Hau Giang in 2009.
