VN-Index gains marginally
Vietnam's benchmark VN-Index rose 0.27% to 1154.73 points Friday.
The index closed 3.12 points higher after gaining 0.80 points in the previous session.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange decreased by 3% to VND13.95 trillion ($570.44 million).
The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 13 tickers gained and 16 fell.
VJC of budget airline Vietjet led with a 6.2% rise, followed by GVR of Vietnam Rubber Group, up 2.6%.
MWG of electronics retail chain Mobile World gained 2.3% and SAB of brewer Sabeco closed 1.7% higher.
VIB of Vietnam International Commercial Bank lost 1.5% in this session, while VHM of property giant Vinhomes closed 1.4% lower.
Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of VND284 billion, mainly selling HPG of steelmaker Hoa Phat Group and MWG of electronics retail chain Mobile World.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, home to mid and small caps, rose 0.26% while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market downed 0.2%.
