“On the streets” by Le My Cuong is the fifth documentary film and also the film for graduate of Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema to be chosen by Kyoto University (Japan) for the Documentary Film Forum 2013: Diversity of Life in Southeast Asia.
The film tells about a group of young people working as vendor singer and dancer around the pavement pubs at night in Saigon. They live in the bridge pier of Him Lam in district No. 7. Their humble job turns into a very interesting story and a nice ground for development of love, friendship and kindness.
The film of Le My Cuong will be screened with other four films, including The Burmese in Thailand, Consider, Lives under Red Light, Panama. The forum will take place on March 11 at the Kyoto University.
