Vice Chairwoman receives Myanmar Minister of Border Affairs

Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy hosted a reception for Minister for Border Affairs of Myanmar, Ye Aung, along with his delegation, in Ha Long city on March 13.

Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy made a brief introduction of the socio-economic development, as well as advantages and potential of Quang Ninh province. She also stressed that Quang Ninh shares borderline in the mainland and on the sea with China, which facilitates the development of marine economy, tourism and trade. Besides, she strongly affirmed on special incentives to foster the development of the ethnic and border areas, contributing to ensure social order, as well as protect the national sovereignty and border security.

For his part, Minister Ye Aung expressed his sincere thanks to Quang Ninh’s chairwoman for warm welcome and his admiration of Halong Bay’s beauty. He highly appreciated Quang Ninh’s achievements in socio and economic development in recent years. 

The minister strongly believed that with close cooperation between Vietnam and Myanmar regarding the special mechanism and incentives for the ethnic groups in the border areas, the ethnic minorities of both sides would be more developed, contributing to  tighten the tradtional relationship of the two countries.
