On May 5, the Management Board of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh Province solemnly held the Vesak ceremony in Buddhist Year 2564, 2020, in Hoa Yen pagoda, Thuong Yen Cong commune, Uong Bi city.
Amid Covid 19 spirals, the celebration of Vesak was simple but still ensured the solemnity with the participation of less than 20 delegates who undertook medical check-ups, wearing face masks and handwashing. This was the first time the Vesak had been held at Hoa Yen pagoda in Yen Tu relic site where King Buddha Tran Nhan Tong attained Nirvana. Besides traditional rituals such as incense offering, Buddha bathing, fish releasing also took place, praying for a good life.
