Van Don International Airport is the first privately-built in Vietnam with an expected capacity of receiving 5 million travelers a year from 2030. Since its operation in December 2018, Van Don International Airport has received 1,300 domestic flights with nearly 160,000 passengers. The airport will open international air routes from Hainan, Nanning, and Guangzhou (China), Japan, and Bangkok (Thailand) and domestic flights from Da Nang and Phu Quoc in the near future, creating conditions for Quang Ninh’s tourism in particular and Vietnam’s tourism in general to make breakthroughs.
