Van Don international airport receives the first flight from Japan

On Dec 28, the first flight connecting Japan with Quang Ninh landed at Van Don international airport, carrying 100 passengers. Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy attented the welcome ceremony.

The Japan – Van Don air route has been operated by Vietnam Airlines in the form of charter flights between travel agencies and airlines. The plane Airbus A321 is used with the design of 184 seats. The first flight with the number VN9317 from Japan to Van Don departed from Narita airport, Tokyo, at 7a.m on Dec 28 and landed at Van Don international airport at 2 p.m on the same day.

At the welcome ceremony, Van Don international airport held a water salute, gave flowers to the first passengers and announced preferential services for them such as free bus, free tickets visiting Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu Mountain etc.

Once operational, Van Don international airport has welcomed nearly 11,000 international tourist arrivals with over 2,000 domestic and international flights.
