In response to the letter by Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee’s Secrtary, cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Nguyen Xuan Ky calling on “Quang Ninh’s people gives priority to using local products and services”, provincial tourism sector has undertaken a number of measures, including launching the campaign “Quang Ninh’s people travel in the province”, contributing the promoting tourism demand and ensure the target of 3 million tourist arrivals in the 4th quarter of 2020.
After enjoying an overnight staying tour on Ha Long Bay, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan (Zone 3, Cao Xanh Ward, Ha Long City) said “I have been to Ha Long Bay for several times. But this is the first time I have experiencedan overnight staying tour on the bay as we can not afford the service. However, thanks to tourism stimulus packages as Covid-19 is basically controlled, people like me have more chances to go travelling and enjoy high-quality services with reasonable prices”.
Ms. Xuan’s thoughts are also what Quang Ninh’s people think when travelling this time. Tourism stimulus packages, discount and preferential programs are like impetushelping Quang Ninh’s tourism warm up and back on track.
Along with responding to and effectively implementing domestic demand promotion program “Vietnamese people travel in Vietnam”, Quang Ninh has started its own campaign “Quang Ninh’s peple travel in Quang Ninh”.
Quang Ninh’s tourism sector sets the target of ensuring safe tourism activities and clears tourists’ fear of disease infection, promoting tourism development in combination with Covid-19 prevention and control, and creating a basis for tourism development in 2021 and the next years.
Quang Ninh is making plans for tourism in winter and spring seasons, especially for Noel, New Year, and Lunar New Year, to lure as more tourists as possible and be ready for re-start international tourism market at suitable time.
According to Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, from May to July 2020, the number of tourists to the province quickly bounced back. On average, 7,000 tourist arrivals to Long Bay a day in June. The figures at the weekends were even higher. From the day of issuing the Resolution No. 256/2020/NQ-HĐND (offering tourism stimulus packages) to the end of August, more than 868,000 tourists arrivals to the bay and more than 40,000 tourist arrivals stayed overnight on the bay.
Along with the recovery in the number of tourists to Ha Long Bay, the number of visitors to local tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, entertainment areas has increased, thus partially solving job problem for local people.
