To implement the Management Plan for Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage Site for the period of 2011-2015 .

In the morning of August 25th, in Ha Long city, Ha Long Bay Management Department organized a meeting to announce the Decision of the PPC and discuss the implementation of the management plan for the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage site.

Attending the meeting, there were representatives of UNESCO, IUCN as well as representatives of the relevant provincial departments.

The Management Plan for the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage site for the period of 2011-2015 is to specify views of point and objectives of the Master Planning on conservation and promotion of Ha Long Bay’s values up to 2020 that was adopted by the Prime Minister at the Decision N0 142/2002/QĐ-TTg dated 21/10/2002. The plan is also designed to be integrated with other sustainable development plans within Ha Long Bay area.

Accordingly, this Management Plan will focus on tacking the eleven key content groups. Under this Plan, the Ha Long Bay Management Department will be the leading agency and responsible for supervision of the implementation of all the contents of the plan. Strong collaboration among other relevant departments and localities within the province is also requested to ensure the progress and effective implementation of this Plan.
