On Sep. 2, in Ha Long city, the Chairman of QNPPC Nguyen Van Doc chaired a meeting with the Mc Kinsey Group to listen to a report on the progress of studying the master plan for socio-economic development of Quang Ninh in the period of 2020 and in vision of 2030. The meeting was also attended by Vice-Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy and other leaders of the relevant provincial departments.
At the meeting, the two sides have discussed about a number of issues, namely: Quang Ninh's GDP growth potential, initiatives, and the ways in which Quang Ninh should approach investors, evaluation of the master plan for Van Don, focusing on the plan of Van Don international airport, recommendations and proposals for the improvement of the development planning for Mong Cai city. Especially, the participants have also talked about tourism development in association with environmental protection.
To conclude the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Doc highly appreciated the Mc Kinsey Group’s effort in their study to draw the master planning for Quang Ninh. At the same time, he emphasized that the Group needs to work more closely with other consultant units, and relevant provincial departments and other localities within the province to well understand all plannings ensuring the synchronization, gaining adequate information serving the drawing of, the master plan for socio-economic development of the province. Mr. Chairman also committed that the Quang Ninh PPC will have close-knit collaboration with the group, striving to complete the draft by October, 2012.
