On Dec. 28, in Ha Long city, QNPPC has held a meeting to approve the organization plan of the 10th Vietnam Poetry Day and the first Asian-Pacific Poetry Festival in 2012. Mrs Vu Thi Thu Thuy, vice-chairwoman of the PPC chaired the meeting.
The first Asian-Pacific Poetry Festival will be jointly held in Quang Ninh by the National Committee of Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts in collaboration with the Vietnam Writers Association and Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committe.
As planned, the 10th Vietnam Poetry Day and the first Asian - Pacific Poetry Festival will take place from February 1st to 4th, 2012 in Hanoi and Quang Ninh. Under these events, many interesting activities will happen to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Vietnam Poetry Day including: the Opening Ceremony of the 10th Vietnam Poetry; International Poetry festival; and a number of incense offering activities will also take place at the foot of Bai Tho mountain on which King Le Thanh Tong’s poems have been carved. In addition, there will be a poetry seminar on “Poetry for a friendly, peaceful, co-operative and developed Asia-Pacific region”.
To conclude the meeting, Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Thuy stressed that Association of Vietnam Literature and Arts will be the focal point implementing the tasks that have been assigned under this program. She also requested relevant sectors and departments to closely coordinate with each other to successfully organize the program. Mrs. Vice-chairwoman directed the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts to complete the plan in details in Dec of 2011 to report to the PPC for approval.
