Summer OCOP Fair 2024 attracted over 56,000 visitors
The Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Summer 2024 was an opportunity for people and visitors to experience shopping for quality products, local and regional specialties as gifts for friends, relatives or for personal consumption.
The fair, held by the provincial Department of Industry and Trade at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center in Ha Long city, aimed to promote production and boost tourism and services, helping increase farmers’ income and raise awareness of Quang Ninh’s OCOP programme.
There were over 300 standard kiosks which displayed and sold thousands of typical products and products groups from 13 districts, towns and cities in the province.
All of the OCOP products were certified to ensure food safety and hygiene, with clear origins and have confirmed their position in the domestic market.
This is also an opportunity for people and visitors to experience shopping for quality products, local and regional specialties as gifts for friends, relatives or for personal consumption. In the meanwhile, it helped create a stable and long-term business environment.
The OCOP program appeared in Vietnam not long ago, starting from Quang Ninh province in 2013 and then spreading to some other provinces and cities.
After a decade of OCOP implementation, Quang Ninh has 569 products of 6 groups, while 336 OCOP products from 13 localities have achieved ratings of 3 to 5 stars (246 products with 3 stars, 86 with 4 stars, and 4 with 5 stars).
The province has 219 production entities participating in the OCOP program (including 54 enterprises, 87 cooperatives, and 78 production households) and around 30 OCOP retail points and centers.
Quang Ninh has planned 17 concentrated agricultural production areas, integrating advanced technology into production. Many of the province’s OCOP products exhibit high quality, excellent designs, and have the potential for export to various markets.
Quang Ninh ‘s OCOP developing strategies focus on developing commercial products, linking producers with products, promoting local advantages and strengths, enabling farmers to actively integrate and access market economy.
