According to Ha Long Bay Management Board, Ha Long Bay currently has 505 tourist boats operating and carrying 8,000 visitors per day to Ha Long Bay. In order to ensure tourists’ safety and security and carry out Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee’s plan of improving the quality of and managing fleets on Ha Long Bay by 2020, Ha Long City and functional bodies have worked closely to prevent crimes, set up a rescue team on the bay, install cameras at tourist sites, and strictly deal with violations.

At the meeting, Quang Ninh’s Vice-chairman, Bui Van Khang, asked Ha Long City’s authority to work with relevant departments and branches to check crew’s competence, the quality of boats, the responsibility of tourim businesses in fire prevention, rescue work, and cancel contracts with violators. All enterprises’ ideas should be gathered and submitted to the provincial people’s committee for consideration.
