Speeding up Ha Long- Van Don highway project

On May 27, Quang Ninh's Vice Chairman Vu Van Dien and the leaders of provincial relevant departments inspected the progress of the Ha Long- Van Don highway project.

As reported, the project is being implemented as planned; the work on foundation and surface of the highway is being sped up. However, a part from difficulties in term of land clearance in Hoanh Bo district, some contractors have conducted the work too slowly that the project's progress has been interrupted.

During the inspection, Mr. Vu Van Dien requested the leaders of Hoanh Bo district to complete as soon as possible the land clearance. He also asked the contractors to take advantage of the current convinient weather, to use modern machines in order to speed up the project. He also requested the investor of the project to closely collaborated with the Department of Transport to review the project's progress and adjust the work properly to ensure the progress as pledged.

Noting that the rainny season is coming soon, the Vice Chairman made a request that a part from accelerating the progress of the highway project, the investor also must pay much attention to the rain and storm prevention, and the water drainage system of the households along the road aming at minimizing bad effects to the people's life during the project implementation.

Notably, the Vice Chairman strongly affirmed that the project must be completed by December of 2017. Therefore, the investors should consider to terminate the contract with the contractors who are incapable to ensure the project's progress.
