Seafood exports to be upbeat by year’s end
Vietnam’s seafood export market will tend to be more positive in the remaining months of 2023 as seafood consumption demand is anticipated to rise, especially during Christmas and New Year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
Vietnam’s seafood export turnover reached more than 767 million USD in June 2023, down 23.7% from the same period last year, while the turnover was posted at 778 million USD in July, down 17.5% from the same period in 2022.
In August 2023, the export revenue was estimated to have hit 846 million USD, a decrease of more than 15% against the corresponding period last year. However, it is the lowest negative growth in the past six months and the revenue in August was much higher than that in the previous months.
This upward trend of export revenue is forecast to continue in the remaining months of 2023.
