The closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2018 and the ATF 2019 was successfully held in Quang Ninh, leaving great impression on the delegates, domestic and international tourists.
As reported, the ATF 2019, one of the vital events of Vietnam in the year, drew the participation of around 2,000 delegates from travel agencies, international organziations, tourism enterprises, media agents and other localities around Vietnam to attend a wide range of activities in the framework of the event.
In the recent years, Quang Ninh made breakthrough in developing transport tourism infrastructure with a number of major projects, namely: Ha Long-Hai Phong expressway; the 10-lane road in Ha Long city, Van Don International Airport, Ha Long International Cruise Port, the SunWorld Ha Long complex, the FLC Ha Long complex; the Quang Ninh Provincial Expo and Trade Fair, Tuan Chau International Whalf, the 5,000-seat multi-purpose stadium. It can be said that Quang Ninh gathers all the best conditions to be chosen as a great venue for domestic and international significant events.
Besides, Quang Ninh owns a great deal of 5-star hotels and resorts that could accommodate thousands of tourists per day, for instance, Vinpearl HaLong Bay Resort, Wyndham Legend Ha Long, Royal, Muong Thanh hotels, etc., which could satisfy the increasing demand of thouasnad tourists each day.
Along with world class services, Quang Ninh is also a home to a number of must see attractions, including Ha Long Bay World Natural heritage site; Bai Tu Long bay; Yen Tu relic in Uong Bi city; Tran dynasty relic in Dong Trieu town. This advantage also helps to be an ideal venue for organising events as visitor have chance to discover attractive tourism spots while attending evevts held in Quang Ninh.
With its dramatic changes in recent years in tourism development, Quang Ninh is now becoming a magnet for both domestic and international visitors. In 2018, the province welcomed over 12.2 million tourist arrivals, seeing a rise of 24% in comparision with 2017. Of wich, the number of interational arrivals was 5.22 million, up 22% over the last year. As estimated in the beginning days of the year 2019, Quang Ninh has received 200,000 tourist arrivals, a rise of 30 over the same period last year.
With positive results in tourism development, it is strongly believed that Quang Ninh will reach the goal to become a province with economic structure of service and industry by 2020.
