According to the Quang Ninh Tourism Department, the province welcomed 420,000 tourist arrivals to its tourist attractions during the April 30-May 1 holiday, up 40% compared to the same period, last year. Of which , the number of tourists staying overnight was 12,000. Almost of three and five-star hotels in the province were reportedly fully booked on this occasion.
As reported, from April 30 to May 2nd, Halong Bay was the most crowded attraction, welcoming more than 71,000 tourist arrivals, including nearly 26,000 are foreigners.
Other famous attractions in the province, including Van Don, Quang Lan, Minh Chau and Co To received around 51,000 holidaymakers.
Another reason that made Quang Ninh more attractive was Ha Long Ocean Park, a new tourism product offered by Sun group. It was reported that 80,000 flocked to the park on the holiday, especially on the peak day of April 30, the number reached 30,000.
During the holiday, visitors could participate in Mong Cai Tourism Week welcoming summer, which began on April 29 with various cultural, tourism and sport activities. According to statistics from the local tourism sector, the city received 50,000 vacationers.
These results presents the great efforts of Quang Ninh authorities in ensuring safety for tourists and business climate. The QNPPC assinged relevant departments and sectors to ensure environmental sanitation, security, transport safety, fire prevention and fighting, food safety for tourists during the holidays. Inspection activities were intensified in order to ensure prices and quality of goods and services.
