In its first participation, Vietnam Olympic team won one silver medal, two bronze medals and one certificate of merit at the third European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) in Riga, Latvia. Tran Ngoc Khanh, 11 grader in Physics class of Ha Long Gifted Highschool, Quang Ninh won one bronze medal.
Sharing his joy, principal of the Quang Ninh’s high school, Trinh Dinh Hai says that this is a huge joy, recognizing Khanh’s efforts in recent years and also an honor of teachers and the entire school.
Contestants with best performances at contests at levels with highest results during learning process, were chosen by Vienam Physical Society in order to compete in this round.
EuPhO took place from May 31st to June 4th. Vietnam team has 5 members from schools, namely, HUS high school for gifted students, Le Hong Phong School for gifted students in Nam Dinh Province, Ha Long High School for gifted students in Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh High School for gifted students in Bac Ninh and Phan Boi Chau High School for gifted students in Nghe An.
