On May 13, Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party's Committee Nguyen Van Doc visited and presented gifts to officials and miners of the Khe Cham Coal Company, on the occasion of the Workers' Month.
In spite of many difficulties in production, the Khe Cham Coal Company is one of the leading members of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) in applying new technologies in exploiting coal. Besides, the company always pays much concerns to the living conditions of the workers, especially the miners. As a result, their working conditions and income have been improved.
Working with the leaders of the Khe Cham Coal Company, Secretary Nguyen Van Doc hailed great efforts that the company has made over the past years, and noted that jobs, welfare and wages must be prioritized for labourers so that they could feel stable and continue their contributions to the company in particular and the coal industry in general.
On the same day, Quang Ninh's Party leader and his delegation visited some households in Mong Duong Ward (Cam Pha city) who have been suffered from damages caused by coal expoiting activities of the Mong Duong Coal Ltd., Company. He requested the local authorities to remove people living in the dangerous areas to the safe locations.
Regarding the local households's wishes and proposals, Mr. Nguyen Van Doc strongly affirmed that priority is always given by the province to ensuring safety for the people. Accordingly, he requested Cam Pha City People's Committee to collaborate with the Vinacomin to remove 14 households in Mong Duong Ward, who are in danger of depression, as well as to compensate them in accordance with the current laws.
