"Quang Ninh aims to become a province with economic structure of service and industry by 2020. In order to achieve this goal, Quang Ninh has made great efforts in improving its investment climate, attracting investments into the province, raising the quality of human resource and speeding up administrative reform.
Along with its own efforts, Quang Ninh hopes to receive strong support and collaboration from other cities and provinces in the Northern Key Economic Region (NKER) in transport and tourism linkage so as to turn Quang Ninh in particular and the region to beione of the leading zones nationwide with rapid and sustainable socio-economic development", said Quang Ninh's Chairman Nguyen Duc Long at the Conference on cooperation development of NKER on Dec.27 in Hanoi city.
The conference was held to evalutate results of cooperation of the NKER in 2011-2016 term, and then adopt the cooperation plan in the next term of 2017-2020. Leaders of central sectors and ministries, other cities and provinces made speeches on measures to accelerate the effectiveness of the cooperation in the region.
Also at the conference, a cooperation agreement for 2017-2020 term was inked by leaders of 15 provinces and cities in the NKER, the Red river delta and the capital regions.
Northern key economic zone (including 7 provinces and cities, namely: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh) is a nerve-centre of politics, economy, culture and science and technology of Vietnam. These localities gather a great number of governmental agencies, operation centers of major economic organizations, famous training institutions, etc and will continue to play vital role and position in development process of the country.
