Tra Co Communal House Festival has been known as a significant cultural feature at Quang Ninh’s border area. The festival takes place from the last day of the 5th lunar month to the 3rd day of the 6th lunar month with ritual and festive parts, namely processions, a fattest pig competition, cultural and sports activities, art performances…

Meanwhile Quan Lan Communal House Festival is held in the middle of the 6th lunar month to mark the village tutelary’s victory against Mongolian invaders in 1288.

To date, Quang Ninh has 6 intangible cultural heritages in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritages, namely Tra Co Communal House Traditional Festival (in Mong Cai City) and Quan Lan Communal House Traditional Festival (in Van Don District), “To” Singing (in Mong Cai), “Then” rituals (in Binh Lieu), Tien Cong Festival (in Quang Yen), and Cua Ong Temple Festival (in Cam Pha).
