On the occasion of Christmas 2019, on Dec 22nd, Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee Secretary cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Nguyen Xuan Ky, had a meeting with bishops managing local parishes.
There are 43,000 Catholic followers and 14 bishops managing 14 parishes and 49 Catholic families in Quang Ninh. The province has 42 Catholic churches and 2 deaneries.
At the meeting, bishops thanked provincial leaders for their concern to the Catholic community. They affirmed that Catholic community in the province totally trusted in the Party’s leadership and obeyed the Government’s legal policies as well as actively took part in socio-economic development.
On behalf of Quang Ninh’s leaders, Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee Secretary cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Nguyen Xuan Ky, asserted that the Catholic community in the province was an important part of the national great unity. On the occasion of Christmas 2019, he wished bishops and Catholic followers in the province a warm and joyful season. He hoped they would uphold their tradition of affection and join emulation movements with the aim of building more prosperous Quang Ninh.
