On January 5, Quang Ninh province People’s Committee issued Decision No. 10 /QD - UBND on colours of painted hulls and sails (if sails used) for tourist sailboats in Ha long Bay.
Accordingly, all boats’ hulls travelling in Ha Long Bay will have to be painted white and sails brown (if sails used). Dragon heads can be painted with traditional paint colours for any boats with dragon heads.
Earlier, on January 4, Quang Ninh province Standing Party Committee announced its report that Quang Ninh province People’s Committee’s Party personnel Board is empowered to issue specific criteria applicable to tourist boats in Ha Long Bay in accordance with current laws. The expiry date is on April 30, 2012. Two days after April 30, 2012, any sailboats not following the regulations will not be licensed to travel in Ha Long Bay.
Quang Ninh province Standing Party Committee also asked Quang Ninh province People’s Committee’s Party personnel Board to direct design orders of tourist boats’ models in Ha Long Bay for modern, luxury, safe and efficient tourist boats in the future.
