On Jun. 22, in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh hosted the conference on the World heritage tourism development cooperation.
At the meeting, Quang Ninh's Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy affirmed that Quang Ninh highly appreciated achievement resulted from the cooperation of the three provinces in recent years. She said that the linkages of these world heritage sites, of which tourism managers, tourism associations and enterprises play an important role in promoting tourism development in the region, extending bilateral and multilateral relationship, as well as enhancing the solidarity and friendship of 3 countries.
Representative leaders of the three provinces made presentations about their tourism potential and current state of tourism developent, highlighting the results the heritage triangle project of Ha Long Bay– Luang Prabang – Ban Chiang for the period of 2014-2015, in a vision of 2020. Under this project, three provinces made great effort in promoting and marketing their tourism image through a wide range of tourism events, programs and fairs, etc. The meeting was also a good occasion for the participants to exchange experiences in tourism and cultural development in Vietnam, Lao and Thailand; tourism labor training was also discussed aiming at boosting the development of tourism industry.
The meeting has also discussed the design of the logo for this Heritage Triangle, and the cooperation of their television stations in tourism promotion .
One of the focus of the meeting was the agrement on action plan on cooperation in tourism development for the period of 2016-2017. This action plans covered important contents, namely: sharing successful models of effective, sustainable and responsible tourism; building package tours to increase the flow of tourists to the three heritage sites; supporting each other in training tourism labors; assisting and speeding up the implementation of the related-tourism project; exchanging information of tourism development policies and tourism statistics; encouraging tourism agencies to design heritage tourism routes connecting the three provinces.
At the end of the meeting, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement for the 2016-2017 period among Quang Ninh (Vietnam), Luang Prabang (Lao) and Udon Thani (Thailand) was held. Accordingly, three provinces pledged to actively carry out all the issues consisted in the action plan so as to promote tourism, enhance cooperation in developing tourism human resource through exchanging experiences in tourism training courses, providing the best conditions to the investors when they come to explore investment opportunites.
The meeting also reached an unanimous agreement to organize the 4th conference on tourism development in this heritage triangle in Thailand.
