Robust measures to stimulate tourism demand was the focus of a conference which was held on Oct 22, in Ha Long city, by the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee.
Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Ky highly appreciated contributions and opinions of investors, tourism businesses, as well as the active involvement of relevant provincial departments and sectors for tourism development of the province. He strongly affirmed that Quang Ninh has paid great attention, and constantly innovated in drawing strategies, orientations and planning for tourism development.
Secretary of the Provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council also emphasized that Quang Ninh is focusing on merging Hoanh Bo district into Ha Long City, thereby expanding the development space, promoting potential and diverse types of tourism. This is a new strategy of Quang Ninh to develop Ha Long into the biggest type-1 urban area of the whole country, with unique diversity of landscape, terrain, tourism resources, creating a great connectivity between Ha Long Bay and tourism spots of Hoanh Bo.
In addition, Quang Ninh continues to implement policies to support businesses and tourists by speeding up the construction of a smart city, offering 5G network so that it could be used in the province sooner than in other localities, as well as providing tourists with convenient utilities.
Related to solutions to attract tourists not only in the tourism season but also in low seasons of the year, the Provincial Party leader suggested that brand identity profile for Quang Ninh tourism in association with Ha Long brand should be set up as soon as possible. Besides, organizing festivals and tourism programs in all seasons, developing world-class tourism products and services was also his recommending solutions to stimulate tourism demand.
“During the implementation, functional authorities must pay much attention to ensuring safety for visitors, and calling businesses to reduce plastic waste”, he added.
Also at the conference, representatives of investors and service providers signed a MoU and a cooperation agreement on tourism and service development in Quang Ninh province.
