On October 18, a workshop on works for the advancement of women in the new circumstance was held on the occasion of celebrating Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20). The workshop was chaired by Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy and attended by leaders of departments, agencies and typical female leaders in the province.
Speaking at the seminar, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy stressed that Quang Ninh women’ role and position in both their families and society have increasingly been affirmed over the past years, contributing to the development of the province. The percentage of female officials participating in Party Committees and governments at all levels has increased over time. Many of them who are voted to undertake important positions have successfully fulfilled the assigned tasks.
Also at the workshop, participants highlighted the good performance in the women works in 2018 as well as evaluated the achieved results and raised difficulties and limitations arise in some of the issues of improving women’s position; implementing gender equality in all fields; or developing female officials, etc. Besides, they also discussed about robust measures to tackle problems facing them, and raised their proposals for the women’s advancements in the upcoming time.
The workshop is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the Vietnamese Women Day.
