On Oct. 16, in Ha Noi city, QNPPC had a working session with Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (hereafter Vinacomin) on its production and trade of 2011 and plan for 2012. Also, a number of difficulties in production and trade of the Group has been also addressed. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van Doc - Chairman of QNPPC, and Mr. Tran Xuan Hoa – President of Vinacomin.
At the meeting, representative of Vinacomin’s leaders has made a brief report regarding production and trade of the Group in 2011 and production plan for 2012. According to the report, in the first nine months of 2011, Vinacomin has exploited 35,687 million tons of raw coal, accounting for 75.8%, up 3% over the same period last year; the Group consumed 32.6 million tons of coal. Its production turnover reached VND 65,682 billion, equal to 90% of the yearly plan, up 19% in comparison to the same period. The revenue of the Group in 2011 is expected to reach VND 900,000 billion, up 10% compared with 2010.
In 2012, Vinacomin plans to consume 45 million tons of clean coal and gain a total turnover of around VND 95,000 billion, up from 3 to 6% over 2011.
Also at the meeting, Vinacomin’s leaders proposed some suggestions and recommendations to the PPC to support the Group in implementing some projects within Quang Ninh province; It also called for coordination from relevant provincial departments in coal management, exploitation, processing and trade so that the Group and its company members could successfully complete plan of 2011 and 5 year-plan from 2011 to 2015.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Nguyen Van Doc - chairman of QNPPC highly appreciated recent achievements of the Group in its production and trade. He stressed that these results will significantly contribute to the goal of completing 2011 socio-economic indicators of Quang Ninh. Mr Chairman also requested Vinacomin to contribute to the provincial budget an amount that has been agreed between the province and the Group.
To conclude the meeting, Mr Nguyen Van Doc – Chairman of QNPPC and Mr. Tran Xuan Hoa - president of Vinacomin have agreed that QNPPC and Vinacomin in the coming time will carry out a list of works as discussed during the meeting and address major issues related to the coal industry. At the same time, they will direct provincial departments and sectors, as well as company members under the Group to collaborate with each other to overcome the difficulties as reported by the Group at the meeting in order to stabilize production and trade, contributing to socio-economic development of Quang Ninh province.
