QNPPC on Dec.11 had a meeting with the inter-sector delegation of the National Border Committee (under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) led by Mr. Do Van Mai- head of China-Vietnam Border Department. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, vice-chairman of QNPPC has received and worked with the delegation. The meeting was also attended by representatives from relevant sectors and localities.
After a field survey at border gates in Mong Cai, Hai Ha and Binh Lieu, Mr. Do Van Mai commented that supervision activities at border gates within the province was enhanced. Customs and Border Guards had strong coordination in inspecting and controlling border areas. Infrastructure in border areas is now being upgraded. In addition, border protection is also enhanced thanks to effective operation of the Border Management Boards.
Mr. Do Van Mai also requested QNPPC to report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the official opening of Hoanh Mo Border Gate and upgrading of Bac Phong Sinh one; and especially continue investing in infrastructure of the border areas.
Speaking at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh highly appreciated this field-visit of the delegation at Mong Cai, Hai Ha and Binh Lieu. He hoped that in the coming time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will offer best conditions to QNPPC in the issues of planning, management and widening the border gates.
To conclude the meeting, Mr. Do Van Mai confirmed that based on the proposals of QNPPC, the delegation will report to the Government and collaborate with other relevant ministries to provide best facilities for the development of the border areas within Quang Ninh province.
