PM meets with Korean and Malaysian leaders

At his meeting with RoK’s President, the two leaders applauded two nations’ cooperative achievements in terms of trade, investment and labor. Especially, the two sides have jointly organized a number of activities to celebrate the Viet Nam-RoK Friendship Year on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

These activities have contributed to enhancing the two countries’ strategic partnership and creating a firm foundation to boost up the bilateral relations to new heights, the two leaders stressed.

PM Dung highly spoke of President Lee Myung-bak’s crucial contributions to strengthening the Viet Nam-RoK relations.

Vietnamese Government expects that the RoK will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese products, especially farm produce to penetrate into the East Asian market to balance the two-way trade turnover.

Both sides also discussed on ways to accelerate the singing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labor cooperation.

The RoK’s President confirmed that his country will always regard Viet Nam as the top strategic partner in the region and coordinate with Vietnamese side to deal with issues of mutual concerns.

During the meeting with Malaysian PM, the two PMs agreed to lift the two nations’ relationship to a strategic partnership.

They are also unanimous in co-organizing the 5th meeting of the Joint Committee for Economic, Technological and Scientific Cooperation, accelerating the signing of a MoU on cooperation in trans-national crime prevention and an agreement on establishing a joint sea patrol system and a liaison channel between the two navies.

They also agreed to create favorable conditions for the two nations’ businesses to enhance investment and cooperation in potential fields and promised close coordination in negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement.

The Malaysian PM said that Malaysian King will pay an official visit to Viet Nam in 2013.
