On April 16, the provincial association for supporting disadvantaged people and parentless children in collaboration with the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and Quang Ninh Media Group launched a charity campaign for disadvantage people and parentless children across the province.
Prominent among those at the launching ceremony was Vice Chairwoman of the province Vu Thi Thu Thuy.
Quang Ninh province has recently paid much attention to social affairs via a range of schemes and policies aiming at hunger eradication and poverty reduction, contributing to raising the spiritual lives and financial conditions of local people, especially those who are living under difficulties.
Within the framework of the ceremony, a talkshow “Livelihoods for people with disabilities” was specifically designed for disadvantaged and hepless people to give them right orientations to get suitable jobs.
On this ocassion, disadvantaged people and parentless children were granted gifts such as wheelchairs, bicyles and study tools by donors.
It is reported that the fund received money and supporting items with a total value of over VND 7.1 billion from units, localities, businesses and donors at the launching ceremony.
