Numerous tourism activities welcome New Year 2022 in Hoi an Ancient Town

The tourism industry of Hoi An city in the central province of Quang Nam is preparing many new and interesting activities to welcome the New Year 2022.

From the beginning of November, the city launched the contest “Creating ideas and making artistic lanterns” in the series of events “Hoi An Lantern Festival” to create a playground for all those who love Hoi An and love lantern making in Hoi An.

During the lantern display period from December 24, 2021 to February 15, 2022, the old town space will become shimmering and full of romance with lanterns and cultural and artistic activities taking place every night.

At 19:00 on December 24, at An Hoi Bridge, the “Hoi An Lantern Festival 2022” will open with attractive performances, the folk art program “Hoai Giang Night”, and a stage decorated by lanterns bearing the characteristics of Hoi An culture. This is a new product, first introduced to the public in this special time.

Within the framework of the event, from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022, the “Fair Market” will be held at Nguyen Phuc Chu street with unique handicrafts, OCOP products, and recycled and handmade products.

On the night of December 31, the “Hoi An welcomes the New Year 2022” program will be held to connect local people and visitors with exciting art performances.

At 09:00 on January 1, 2022, the city will organize a program to welcome the first group of guests to visit Hoi An ancient town in 2022, showing hospitality and deep thanks for the affection that visitors have for Hoi An.

Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An City People’s Committee, said that the activities in the event series have been carefully and safely prepared to ensure the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic with enthusiastic response from local people.
