On Mar. 23, in Ha Long city, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation program between Quang Ninh and AUT was offically signed. The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Do Thi Hoang - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party's Committee, Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee and Director of the Ha Long University, Mr. Nigel Hemmington Pro Vice Chancellor International, AUT Universiy and his colleagues.
The purpose of the MOU is to promote cooperation between AUT University and Quang Ninh province by providing a mutual cooperation in education, reasearch, consultancy in accordance with the need of Quang Ninh province and AUT University's strengths. Accordingly, AUT University will consider providing special supports for Quang Ninh province's scholarship students who wish and are eligible to study Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees at AUT University. Aslo, AUT University will organise short-term training courses in New Zealand with themes, topics and with program content tailored to the needs of Quang Ninh's officials and staff. In addtion, AUT University will provide assistance to Quang Ninh proince in training and upgrading Ha Long University's lecturers.
Speaking at the sining ceremony, Deputy Secretary Do Thi Hoang stressed that this ceremony will contribute to celebrate 40 year anniversary of the friendship of Vietnam and New Zealand. . She also strongly believed that the MoU will highly help to promote training for Quang Ninh's officials and staff as well as enhance the quality of Quang Ninh's human resource through the cooperation program in education, research, consultancy in both New Zealand and Vietnam.
