Mong Cai: Over 7, 300 tons of goods exported through border gate

The border gates and open roads in Mong Cai city have reopened since Feb.3 after the Lunar New Year holiday. Up to now, more than 1,000 vehicles carrying over 7,300 tons of import and export goods have gone through the Km3+4 Hai Yen Temporary Floating Bridge and Bac Luan Bridge 2 Border Gate.

At the open road of the Km3+4 Hai Yen temporary pontoon bridge, 672 trucks crossed carrying more than 4,800 tons of exported goods including fruit and vegetables, frozen seafood, fresh goods, etc.  from February 3 to 9.

The first shipment of 26 tons of electronic components worth nearly USD 2.4 million was imported at Bac Luan Bridge 2 on February 5. It is reported that 2,476 tons of goods and 8 import-export trailers crossed Bac Luan 2 Bridge since then. Main types of goods included fruits, agricultural products, yarn, electronic components, and shoe materials.

To ensure smooth import-export activities in the area, functional forces at Bac Luan Bridge 2 Border Gate and the open road of the Km3+4 temporary pontoon bridge in Hai Yen have strictly complied with defined regulations on Covid-19  prevention and control. They have  offered businesses and border residents active support so that they can effectively carry out import-export procedures.

Currently, at the Bac Luan Bridge 2 Border Gate, there are no goods backlogged due to congestion before the Lunar New Year.
