Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Commission for Unesco work with Quang Ninh

On August 16, a working delegation led by Mr. Le Hoai Trung –Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs cum Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO had a working session with Quang Ninh’s leaders on the conservation of Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage Site, relationship with international partners as well as the coordination between Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Quang Ninh province.

Speaking at working session, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Quang Ninh’s Chairman emphasized that Quang Ninh always determines that preserving geological and geomorphological values of Ha Long Bay should be on the top priority in the province's key economic policies, because it is the fundamental impetus for Quang Ninh to make breakthroughs in developing the structure of the services and tourism in the upcoming time. Therefore, Quang Ninh pays much concerns to the management and conservation as well as environmental protection ofthe Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site.

For his parts, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the VietnamNational Commission for UNESCO highly appreciated Quang Ninh's efforts in effectively tapping, conserving and promoting values of Ha Long Bay; maintaining good relationship with international partners and ensuring national border security and safety.

“Quang Ninh should continue to deploy appropriate measures and development plans so that the the province could not only exploit the heritagesbut also preseve them in an effective way”, said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, “the Commission will send experts to support and share experiences with Quang Ninh”, he added.

In addition, Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO asked Quang Ninh to continue to undertake better international cooperation issues and ensure national border security and safety. Having said that, he then affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pledges to actively support Quang Ninh to develop cooperation with international partners.
