In the afternoon of Oct. 24, in Ha Long city, QNPPC has held a meeting on public security and order, environmental protection, food safety, and intensifying the voting campaign for Ha Long Bay as one the seven natural wonders of the world. Vice- chairwoman of the PPC - Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Thuy chaired the meeting. There were also the presence of representatives of relevant departments and sectors; Tourism Association and tourism enterprises in the province.
According to the report of Ha Long Bay Management Department, Ha Long Bay is always in the top candidates of the 28 finalists thanks to the active support and response of functional authorities and departments at all levels, people and visitors. In this final stage, Ha Long Bay Management Department is continuing to intensify the voting campaign for the Bay by different voting methods, especially by sending SMS to 147.
At the same time, the Department has collaborated with other authorities to ensure security and safety for visitors and enhance environmental protection activities on Ha Long Bay.
At the meeting, representatives of departments, sectors and tourism enterprises have raised their opinions on ensuring public security and order, environmental protection and food safety, especially improving service quality of tourism and building capacity for tourism staff members.
Speaking at the meeting, Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Thuy stressed that the voting campaign is now in the last stage. Thus, the campaign needs to be more intensified. She requested departments, sectors and enterprises to continuously mobilize people to vote for Ha Long Bay via the internet by visiting the website www.new7wonders.com; sending SMS to 147, telephoning, or by using social networking site applications of Face book, Youtube, or online newspapers.
In addition,Mrs. Vice-chairwoman directed authorities to enhance checking activities to ensure safe conditions at tourist wharves, on accommodation and day trip boats. Violation must be strictly punished. Also, environmental protection, food safety and public security and order must be enhanced.
