On Oct. 14, the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee held a meeting chaired by Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Khang on the preparatory work for the 12th Intergovernmental Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum in Asia (EST 12), which is planned to take place from Oct. 28-31 in Ha Long city.
At the meeting, representatives of relevant departments and agencies reported on the preparatory work for the EST 12, focusing on a number of issues, such as: Food hygiene and order security insurance, traffic safety; organizing Ha Long Bay tour for delegates; welcoming the delegates at the Provincial Public Administrative Center, as well as preparing video introducing Quang Ninh's outstanding achievements in socio-economic development.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Bui Van Khang requested functional department to actively work to ensure that EST 12 would be successfully organized.
He also directed the relevant departments agencies to pay much attentions to the forum's contents well; Especially, a detailed scenario of introductory information of places that will be visited needs to be well-prepared so that it could show the renovation and development of the places.
Co-held by Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Intergovernmental Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum in Asia is an annual event that promotes the exchange of professional experience and awareness of member countries on environmentally sustainable transport. This year's forum will be hosted in Ha Noi and Quang Ninh with the participation of nearly 300 delegates as country membersies’ officials and leaders, UN experts, and representatives of international organizations and research institutes. In Ha Long, the forum will include a conference on EST 12 program at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center, delegates will visit the Provincial Public Administrative Center, Ha Long International Cruise Port and Ha Long Bay.
