During his trip to Quang Ninh, on Dec 5th, Lao Deputy Minister Sonexay Siphandone paid a visit to Van Don Economic Zone. He was accompanied by Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairman Cao Tuong Huy.
Van Don Economic Zone has received special concern of investors. It is one of Quang Ninh’s 4 key economic zones. Total investment in key infrastructure in Van Don has reached 47,000 billion VND. The district has attracted an addition of 56,000 billion VND from corporations and enterprises to carry out development projects, focusing on high-end resorts and eco-urban areas.
Lao Deputy Prime Minister said he was impressed by the way that Quang Ninh had mobilized capital for the development of Van Don Economic Zone. He hoped the province would share experiences in attracting investment and policies to develop economic zones. Besides, he suggested both sides should co-ordinate to organize seminars on socio-economic development, set up connections, and introduce direct flight to boost tourism between Laos and Quang Ninh.
