Ka Long border gate resumes customs clearance activities
At 8am on June 17, import and export activities through Mong Cai city’s Ka Long border gate (Vietnam) and Dongxing city’s in Mong Cai city (China) returned to normal after three years of temporary suspension.
As planned, during the first phase of pilot customs clearance, 40 boats of cassava flour will go through this pair of border gates.
Previously, Mong Cai city accomplished formulating a disease control plan, ensuring a "safe green zone" for customs clearance of goods through Ka Long Border Gate (Vietnam) and Dongxing city border gate (China) to strictly implement the pandemic prevention agreement between Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China).
Truck drivers, service staff, and labors working at border gates and opening roads in the city must meet essential criteria such as having negative test results by RT-PCR/RT-LAMP method within 48 hours after collecting samples, having a full dose of COVID-19 vaccine (not applicable to people who have recovered), carrying out regular medical declarations, and fully complying with 5K regulations.
Boats transporting import and export goods must be registered and affixed with Mong Cai's distinctive signboard. They also have conform to all regulations on business registration, tax and fee payment with the budget, Covid-19 prevention equipment, fire prevention and fighting equipment and positioning equipment. Each boat is allowed to acommodate no more than 2 people when transporting goods. They must use the unified logo between Mong Cai City (Vietnam) and Dongxing City (China).
So far, import and export activities of goods through border gates and openings in Mong Cai city have returned to normal.
