According to the provincial Department of Tourism, during the 2018 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, Quang Ninh received 2.6 million tourist arrivals (a rise of 22% compared to the same period last year). Of which, the number of international tourist arrivals accounted for 857,000 (an increase of 18% against the same period in 2017). The province earned over VND 4,200 billion in tourism revenue.
As reported, only in the first two months of 2018, the number of tourist arrivals to Halong Bay reached 746,000, an increase of 27% compared to the same period of 2017. Of which, the number of international arrivals was 656,000, up 31% over the last year.
It is reported that Quang Ninh sees a sharp rise in Feb, which falls on the occasion of the Lunar New Year holiday. The total number of tourist arrivals to the province reached nearly 2 million including 489,000 international arrivals, gaining a total revenue of more than VND 3,000 billion.
March is also the peak month of festivals in Quang Ninh. Thus, the number of tourist arrivals flocking to Quang Ninh is forecasted to continue increasing. The local functional authorities were asked to enhance management and inspection of tourism activities in order to ensure the security, safety and the best conditions for tourists to prolong their stay and increase their spend in the province.
