Within the framework of the APICTA 2019 taking place in Quang Ninh, the International Conference on Digital Transformation and Smart Cities was held on November 20, in Ha Long City.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dang Huy Hau emphasized that this is a very meaningful and necessary event in the current context of that Quang Ninh and other localities nationwide are deploying smart cities building and digital transformation.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dang Huy Hau hopes to receive contributions and comments and learn experiences from the participants so that Quang Ninh could soon achieve goals of information technology application and development, and gets ready for development and integration in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
With the theme "Digital transformation towards building smart cities", the conference focused on analyzing, assessing opportunities, challenges, as well as sharing points of views, and practical experiences on the overall structure and the components forming smart cities for sustainable development.
Regarding digital transformation in the key industries, the discussion focused on analyzing, introducing experiences and solutions for digital transformation in the fields of health, education, seaport management and operation, tourism, in which many localities are interested.
For his part, Founder cum Chairman of APICTA, Stan Singh, said that this will be fundamental and experience in the process of developing smart cities. In particular, Vietnam is one of the pioneering countries. Viet Nam, with many innovations, is believed to be successful in building a chain of smart cities gradually connecting intelligent urban networks in the region and the world.
On the sideline of the APICTA 2019, an awards ceremony, a Vietnam Culture Night, and a Gala dinner celebrating the success of the APICTA 2019 were held.
