HCMC receives first golf tourists
Ho Chi Minh City, which has started offering golf tours to foster tourism recovery, on Wednesday welcomed its first group of golfers from Singapore.
Besides playing golf, the 20 tourists will also take an open-deck bus tour to iconic landmarks, see the city from the Saigon Sky Deck Bitexco observatory and have dinner in the floating Elisa Restaurant on the Saigon River.
Le Truong Hien Hoa, deputy director of city Department of Tourism, said at a city meeting Tuesday the city has two large golf courses, Tan Son Nhat and Thu Duc, and several other smaller ones that make it convenient to offer golf tours.
The country has around 100 golf courses, 32 of them meeting international standards.
In 2021 Vietnam was voted by the World Golf Awards as the world's best golf destination.
