The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last week held an awards ceremony at the Hanoi Opera House to honour Vietnam’s top travel agencies in 2017 on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry (July 9, 1960 - 2017).
Co-organised by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Vietnam Tourism Association, the Vietnam Tourism Awards is an annual event aiming to honour organisations, businesses and individuals who have made positive contributions to Vietnam's tourism development. It also helps stimulate the emulation movement, improve service quality, diversify tourism products and build the national tourism brand so as to develop tourism into a key sector of the country. The awards also help tourists choose the best tourism agencies and brands with the highest quality.
At the ceremony, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism granted awards to 91 organisations, enterprises and individuals, including 5-star, 4-star and 3-star hotels; domestic and international travel agencies; restaurants and bars, travel stops; airlines; golf-courses, and tourism complexes, etc.
Along with Ba Na Hills (in Da Nang), VinPearl Nha Trang (in Khanh Hoa), VinPearl Phu Quoc (in Kien Giang), and Sam Son (in Thanh Hoa), Halong Bay-the World Natural Heritage Site, received the title of "The Vietnam's leading tourism complex in 2017".
Also at the ceremony, Ha Long Fishing Village Cusine Restaurant was granted with the award of ten leading restaurants of Vietnam.
