The Faculty of Environment at Ha Long University co-ordinates with the Quang Ninh Provincial Association of Farmers to implement the project of “Building community model to manage, classify, collect, and treat plastic waste in coastal areas along Ha Long Bay”.
The general target of the project is for coastal communities who are voluntary and made efforts to collect and reduce plastic waste, thus protecting people’s health, the ecosystem of Ha Long Bay in particular and seas in general. The project got sponsorship from the UNDP Global Environmental Finance's Small Grants Programme in Norway and Quang Ninh’s reciprocal capital.
The program also helps students gain more knowledge and skills during environmental surveys in the locality and evaluate the influence of production development on the environment, thus raising their awareness of behaviors and actions of each individual and organization in protecting the environment.
