The Spring Newspaper Festival opened on Jan. 29 at the Quang Ninh Provincial Library in Ha Long city. The 10 - day annual festival was held by Quang Ninh Journalists’ Association to respond to the 89th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (Feb. 3), and the Lunar New Year 2019.
Around 400 press publications and magazines of Quang Ninh and other provinces nationwide are displayed at the festival. They are classified into 5 categories to provide visitors an overarching view of the history of Viet Nam’s revolutionary press and the province’s press achievements in the year 2018. Not only newspapers and magazines, objects and documents on the construction and development of Quang Ninh province are introduced at the festival.
Besides, over 1,000 books with the two themes, including Uncle Ho with the Nation’s Spring and “Vietnam Communist Party – 89 springs” are also on display at the event.
The Spring Newspaper Festival is an annually held by the Quang Ninh Journalists’ Association on the occasion of the Lunar New Year. This is a significant activity for Quang Ninh journalists, introducing the readers the best newspapers and Lunar New Year publications. It is also one of the vital events celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association of Quang Ninh (December 30, 1959-2019)
Earlier, the opening ceremony of the Spring Newspaper Festival took place on Jan. 27 in Binh Lieu district.
