Ha Long International Cruise Port: Ready for cruise tourism season

With Ha Long Bay – the World Natural Heritage and Wonder and attractive tourism product chain, Quang Ninh is a magnet for the international cruise tourism tours which are considered as one of the most luxurious tourism types today. November marks the beginning of a new season cruise tourism season of the year, Ha Long International Cruise Port – the first specialized cruise port in Vietnam is urgently implementing plans to welcome and serve tourists.

Started operation since Nov., 2018, the Ha Long International Cruise Port has affirmed its important role and gateway to welcome luxury cruise ships to Quang Ninh Province. In the first year of operation, the port received 44 cruise ship arrivals carrying nearly 70,000 passengers to Ha Long City.

To prepare for the new cruise tourism season, the port management unit has arranged parkings and electric cars right at the wharf to ease passenger reception. Besides, a series of projects have been put into operation, such as inland berths, the reception terminal covering an area of over 13,000 square meters with unique design, duty - free shops, restaurants, a chain of high-class recreation areas of Sun World Complex, Bai Chay Beach, Quang Ninh Museum, Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center, Bai Tho Mountain, Ha Long Market etc, forming a closed tourism value chain, thereby satisfying tourists’ demands.

Recently, the number of cruise ships to Quang Ninh has continuously increased with high frequency such as Star Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Costa, Silver Sea...Notably, there are some cruise lines that have chosen Quang Ninh as the first destination in their new journey.

It can be seen that the bustle of international cruise lines bringing visitors to Ha Long makes the “picture” of Quang Ninh tourism more exciting. The initiative, readiness and promotion of cruise tourism is regarded as an appropriate strategic direction of Quang Ninh which is consistent with the goal of increasing the proportion of services and tourism as well as the growth of the smoke-free industry.
