“I am very surprised and honored to receive this title. Vietnam and its people are very friendly and lovely. I will definitely come back to your country and visit you again in my next journeys”, said Mr. Curvalle Bernard Francois, the six millionth international visitor who has just been to Vietnam for the first time with his family during the journey departed from Win Nan (China) to Ha Long Bay- Hue (Vietnam). He was formally received in Ha Long city by representatives of tourism industry of Vietnam.
The event that the 6 millionth international visitor comes to Ha Long on a cruise ship is one of the new signs of Vietnam tourism and confirms tourism strength of Quang Ninh. Curvalle Bernard Francois is one of the passengers on the five-star SuperStar Aquarius that brings 1,000 tourists and crew members to Ha Long Bay. This is a high-ranking cruise that has brought a large number of international visitors to this city.
Commenting on this event, vice-chairman of QNPPC- Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Thuy said, this is the pride of Vietnam tourism in general and Quang Ninh tourism in particular
Looking back to the year of 2011, it is reported that the total of tourists arrivals to Quang Ninh estimated to reach over 6 million, equal to 111,1% of the plan, up 10.8% in comparison with the same period last year; of which the number of international tourists accounts for 2.3 million arrivals. The total revenue of tourism attained VND 3,400 billion, up to 6.25% over the same period of 2010. These figures show the growth of Quang Ninh tourism activities but the speed is not as high as last year.
With its advantages and determination to achieve the target of “green growth”, Quang Ninh tourism is expected to host more similar events.
